VENUE STAMPS

A Venue indicates the state and the county where a notary is actually performing the transaction.
The definition of Venue is:
 "The clause in an affidavit naming the locality where it was made and sworn to".
Every Notarial Act must designate where the notary is physically located at the time the notarization is performed.  This is called a "venue". It usually reads as follows:
                                                 
                                                   State of ___________
                                                   County of _________
 
For a notarial act to be considered complete and valid, the notarization must include the venue.  Since the Venue is a required component of a notarial act, the Venue Stamp often comes in handy when documents are missing a venue section.  It is important to note that no one except the notary may complete the venue section of a document otherwise the document could be viewed as invalid.
